PERTH - "You've really got it, kid". A throw away comment made recently by a celebrity music manager to jazz performer Cathrine Summers is just one of the indicators which has seemingly set the local Perth girl on a stairway to the stars, and the launch of her debut album late last year is catapulting her journey even further.

Cathrine recently performed on the Radiance of the Seas as part of a special 'Bravo! Cruise of the Performing Arts', alongside artists including Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, David Hobson, Teddy Tahu Rhodes and Marina Prior. She caught the eye of not only that music manager, but the event's organisers who lavished her with praise and quickly snapped her up to perform in the UK for another upcoming Festival cruise.

Enjoy a selection of delightful classics including L-O-V-E, Cry Me A River and You Make Me Feel So Young, plus a number of French songs, which the singer is quickly becoming known for such as La Vie En Rose, Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien. Cathrine brings to life songs of artists such as Julie London, Mel Tormé, Anita O'Day, Ella Fitzgerald and many more in this intimate setting cozied up by the roaring fire at Wyndam Resort - perfect for a winter evening.

Often compared to Julie London or Carmen McRae, the UK-born vocalist fostered her career in Perth and is acclaimed for her rich timbre, vocal range and warming, husky quality to her voice. Her undeniable on-stage charisma and playful banter gives her audiences a female Michael Bublé style of performance - a voice with power, a fun mischievous candour, and a passion for jazz that transcends eras.

Since her performing debut in 2008, Cathrine Summers has lit up many Perth events, festivals and has performed nationally and internationally. Her deep respect for the great singers of the past, her love of the Golden Era of Jazz, her European touch and her fun nature brings a new, yet timeless feel to these classics.
